Ukraine captures two Chinese troopers preventing for Putin as WW3 fears develop

Two Chinese soldiers have been captured ‘fighting for Russia’ in Ukraine, resident Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.

The Ukrainian leader said his forces had found six Chinese soldiers fighting in the eastern part of the country.

Two have been taken prisoner and he has ordered officials to obtain an explanation from Beijing.

He added: “We have information that there are many more Chinese citizens in the occupier’s units than just two. We are now finding out all the facts.”

China is an ally of Russia and has been accused of helping its war in Ukraine, though Beijing has repeatedly denied allegations that it has supplied Mad Vlad’s forces with weapons.

The involvement of Chinese troops on Ukrainian soil would mark a dangerous escalation, bringing two superpowers into more direct confrontation.

President Zelenskyy described China as “having joined Russia’s war against Ukraine” and said he expected the US to react.

He shared a video on Twitter of what appeared to be one of the soldiers speaking to his captors.

In a post, Zelenskyy said: “Our military has captured two Chinese citizens who were fighting as part of the Russian army. This happened on Ukrainian territory—in the Donetsk region.

“Identification documents, bank cards, and personal data were found in their possession.

“We have information suggesting that there are many more Chinese citizens in the occupier’s units than just these two.

“We are currently verifying all the facts—intelligence, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the relevant units of the Armed Forces are working on it.”

He added that Russia’s involvement of Chinese soldiers is a “clear signal that Putin intends to do anything but end the war”.

He said of his Russian counterpart: “He is looking for ways to continue fighting. This definitely requires a response. A response from the United States, Europe, and all those around the world who want peace.”
