Scottie Scheffler goes viral on the Masters after being captured in very weird place on Augusta
World No 1 Scottie Scheffler sent golf fans wild during the second round of the Masters Friday with a very unexpected moment.
The reigning champion stunned patrons when he chipped in for birdie of the edge of the 12th green at Augusta National earlier in his round.
However, it was six holes later when Scheffler truly set the internet alight – for a completely different reason.
At the 18th, the two-time winner fired his tee shot deep into the thick woods on the left side of the fairway.
The 28-year-old waded through the foliage in search of his ball but upon finding it, it initially appeared that he had no clear line out back out to safety.
And as he mulled how to pull off an escape from the treacherous lie, Scheffler looked lost in a moment of contemplation.

The defending champion took a seat in the pine after an errant drive from the 18th tee
The Masters broadcast caught Scheffler taking a seat on the pine straw and gazing into the distance, his ball left abandoned to his right.
The image sparked a viral reaction from golf fans online, who hailed the world’s top golfer as ‘one of us.’
‘Scottie Scheffler is a mood right now,’ FanDuel’s official account wrote on X alongside the image of Scheffler.
“Everything is fine,'” a Scheffler-dedicated fan account jokingly posted, while another added: ‘A picture is worth a thousand words.’
‘Then Scottie Scheffler disappeared into the bushes and was never seen again,’ CBS Sports’ Tom Fornelli quipped.
Several other social users likened the moment to the famous GIF of Homer Simpson backing into the bushes.
Meanwhile, another referenced a different GIF of reality TV star Kim Kardashian peering around a tree, saying: ‘Scottie Scheffler going full Kardashian on hole 18.’
‘Golf is the greatest sport in the world. Scottie Scheffler … one of us,’ another fan posted, seemingly enjoying Scheffler’s blunder.

‘Scottie Scheffler hiding from the parking Police,’ another joked, referring to the world No 1’s arrest at last year’s PGA Championship.
Scheffler went on to limit the damage at 18, closing his second round with a bogey to head into the clubhouse in a tie for 5th.
The result leaves the defending champion in contention on five under after a 71 featuring no fewer than five bogeys, and he was joined on the same score by Tyrrell Hatton.
