With a whopping $21,000,000 on the line, this year’s Masters champ is set to bag a cool $4 million.

The second-place finisher isn’t going home empty-handed either, pocketing a hefty $2.2 million, while third place will be banking $1.4M. The fourth-place golfer will also join the millionaire’s club, snagging just over a mil.

Even the player finishing 50th after making the cut will nab $52,920. The Masters organisers have confirmed that “All professionals who did not qualify for the final 36 holes will receive $25,000.”

In comparison to the eye-watering riches of the LIV Golf circuit, where each of the 14 events boasts a purse of $25M and the winning team pockets $5M, the Masters’ prize money doesn’t seem too shabby.

The individual winner on the LIV tour takes home $4M, with the runner-up earning $2.25M.

Marc Leishman was the recent beneficiary of a $4M windfall at the LIV event in Miami’s Doral, while Charl Schwartzel collected $2,250,000 and Sergio Garcia made $1.5M.

To stay competitive, the PGA Tour has upped its game by increasing its purse to $20M for its eight marquee events, reports the Mirror US.

The Masters, meanwhile, has seen its purse swell to $21M, a $1M increase from last year and a significant jump from $18M in 2023.

Last year, Scottie Scheffler pocketed $3.6 million for his second Green Jacket, and newcomer Ludvig Aberg took $2.1M from his first Masters outing.
