Katy Perry heads to house: Live Blue Origin launch updates as singer leads A-list crew embarking on historic mission

Pop superstar Katy Perry will today launch from a Blue Origin rocket alongside five women in an unprecedented all-female space mission.
Perry will take off from Texas with Lauren Sanchez, fiancee of Jeff Bezos, TV presenter Gayle King, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, former rocket scientist Aisha Bowe and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn on an historic 11-miniute flight.
The mission, the first all-female space trip to 1963 and the only all-women crew, will see the women reach a maximum height of 100km (62 miles) above Earth – thereby crossing the Karman line, the boundary of space.
Scheduled to take place at 8.30am local time (2:30pm UK time), the launch from Texas marks the latest flight of Blue Origin’s New Shepard programme, named NS-31, which transports tourists into space.
