Lanky lass with 3ft-long legs reveals the creepiest factor males say to her
The 27-year-old says she struggled with insecurity about her height due to randomers stopping her in the street and said finding the right clothes was ‘traumatic’
A 5ft 11in fashion-brand owner says “insecure” men are too “intimidated” to ask her out as she has legs that are 3ft long.
Aurelia Shirazu said that her long limbs take up more than half of her frame, attracting stares and unwanted comments from “creepy” blokes and some have asked her to wrap her legs around them.
The 27-year-old says she used to struggle with insecurity about her height as people would stop her in the street. She also said finding clothes that fit her was “traumatic” and that people at the gym call her “legs eleven” and she gets called a “giraffe”.
But she says despite the comments men never ask her out, as she says they might find her frame “emasculating”.
Aurelia launched her own clothing brand Long Legs London in December 2024 to encourage people to feel more confident about their height.
She shared photos on TikTok, with one captioned: “I’m a tall girl, of course I was referred to as a giraffe growing up”. It racked up more than 6,000 views.
The Norwich entrepreneur said: “My legs are very, very long, they take up half my body. I do think taller women get a lot of attention and stares and comments. For years I’ve tried to make myself shorter.
“I think men are gross. On a night out men will say ‘I just want you to wrap your legs around me’.
It’s the creepiest and grossest. Even if it was someone I liked that said that I would think ‘that’s a bit weird’.
“When I started going to the gym at age 16 or 17, I always had this man in the gym call me ‘legs eleven’, I didn’t know what it meant. I asked around and it was a bingo reference. It’s disturbing that people feel so comfortable to make these comments.”
Shirazu, who also founded Soho Wardrobe, said her height makes dating really difficult.
Aurelia said: “I’ve been told my height was one of the reasons men were intimidated, some men can feel emasculated around tall women. If a short man made a comment about my height, I’d think it was definitely insecurity.
“I think a lot of it is confidence. I am a very blasé, straight-to-the-point person. I’ve got quite a resting b**ch face too.
“I think with me, personally it’s a combination of everything.”
She added: “Not being able to find clothes that fit was a bit traumatic, my options have been limited.
“I would have to get a size altered just so I could wear the school uniforms. Everything was too short for me, I could never wear the school trousers.”
The fashion brand owner said: “I get really positive feedback from customers and people saying because they’ve seen my posts they can be more confident or I’ve encouraged them to wear heels.”
