Two teenage women arrested after man in his 40s present in road with ‘life-changing accidents’

Two teenage girls have been arrested after a middle-aged man was found in the street with ‘life-changing injuries’. 

The 19-year-old duo were arrested on suspicion of attacking a man in his 40s, who detectives have not yet named, at around 4.30am today. 

Police were called to an address in Luton in the early hours of today following an abandoned 999 phone call.

The force is now appealing for witnesses to come forward, as officers remain at the scene. 

The two girls, who were at the address when the authorities arrived, are currently in police custody.

A spokesman for Bedfordshire Police said: ‘We are appealing for witnesses after officers attended an address in Foxglove Way, Luton, following an abandoned call around 4.30am today.

‘Police arrived to find a man aged in his 40s outside the address. He was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.

‘Two women aged 19 years, who were also at the address, were arrested and taken into custody. Officers currently remain at the scene.’

Detective Inspector Jon Wheeler from Bedfordshire Police’s Emerald team said, ‘Our officers arrived at the scene of this incident to find a man who has suffered life-changing injuries.

‘Anyone who may have heard or seen something can get in touch via 101 quoting reference number 40 or Op Horning. You can also report information to us via our website Home | Bedfordshire Police.’
