Marcus Rashford ‘possessed’ as he units up Villa Champions League comeback towards PSG
Marcus Rashford has been branded ‘a man possessed’ by footie fans after helping inspire Aston Villa’s stunning second half turnaround against PSG.
The Manchester United loanee provided an assist for Ezri Konsa’s goal – Villa’s third – by dancing around the PSG defence down the right before pulling the ball back to the centre half who finished with aplomb.
Villa were trailing 2-1 at half-time (5-2 on aggregate) but the second half comeback has put them 3-2 up on the night (4-5) on aggregate, sparking a grandstand finish as they searched for an equaliser that would force extra time.
Unai Emery’s men went into the second leg of the Quarter final as huge underdogs after losing 3-1 in the French capital.

And they looked down and out when PSG raced into a 2-0 lead within the opening half an hour at Villa Park.
But a goal from Tielemans just before half-time gave them a glimmer of hope.
And a second from John McGinn ten minutes into the second half levelled the score on the night.
Rashford’s brilliance then set up Konsa’s third just before the hour mark to really ignite Villa’s hopes of staying in the competition.

And fans on social media were quick to heap praise on the star, with one saying: “Rashford hit the cross without looking. Brother’s moving possessed.”
A fan of parent club Manchester United said: “Bring him back and sack Ruben Amorim.”
Another fan quipped: “That’s what you can achieved when you leave Man United.”
Villa legend Dion Dublin, on commentary for the BBC, said: “Marcus Rashford has been on fire tonight.”

Rashford, who was replaced by Watkins after his goal involvement, is on loan at Villa Park from Manchester United after falling out of favour with new Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim.
He has bagged five goals and three assists in 22 games for Villa since the January and his improved form saw him recalled to the England squad by Thomas Tuchel for his first World Cup 2026 qualifiers squad.
Villa have an option to buy the striker for around £40million from United at the end of the loan deal in June.
But it is reported Crystal Palace are also keen on the forward if a permanent switch to the Midlands falls through.
And a return to Old Trafford has also not been ruled out given United’s goalscoring problems – but only if Rashford heals his relationship with manager Ruben Amorim.
