Alfie Boy (3.42) can continue Tim Easterby’s rip-roaring recent form at Beverley on Tuesday.
The trainer has had 15 winners in the past fortnight and his team is fitter and more forward than usual at this early stage of the Flat season. Alfie Boy won twice within a week recently and bids for a hat-trick in the Download The Raceday Ready App Handicap.
He has the best draw in stall one and has the perfect berth to jump out and repeat his course and distance victory of last month when he made all the running.
Adam Nicol knows a good mare when he sees one as he used to ride the classy Lady Buttons. The trainer has found the key to Feach Amach (7.10, nb) and she can land her third win in a month at Sedgefield.
She is improving and young rider Josh Thompson has struck up a nice rapport. Gavin (7.40) bolted up for Mickey Bowen and his champion jockey brother Sean last week and should follow up under a penalty at the Co Durham track.
Bear Rock (4.20, trb) did this tipster a good turn when winning at 11-1 at Haydock on her latest run. She is 3lb higher in the weights at Chepstow on Tuesday but should go very well under Hollie Doyle.
Bear Rock has the pace to get a good race position and tack over to the favoured stands’ side rail and she will take some pegging back. At Worcester I am hoping the excellent Richie McLernon can find the key to Keppel Queen(4.30) who has ability but is a tricky ride.
And although the £85,000 paid for Les’s Jersey Royal (5.05) may have been far too much, I have seen glimpses of his potential and he could go well at a decent price.
