CNN Data Chief Spots How Americans Think Democrats ‘Don’t Have A Clue’ On Key Issue

Enten — in a segment with CNN’s John Berman — pointed to three separate polls where respondents favored Republicans more than Democrats when asked which party they aligned with or trusted more to tackle the issue.
“The American electorate believe that the Democrats don’t have a clue on the issue of immigration,” said Enten of a party wading through historically bad approval ratings.
Trump’s latest move follows a weekend of protests that have taken over headlines as demonstrators speak out against Immigrations and Customs Enforcement and the administration’s mass deportations in his second term.
Enten, using an aggregate of several polls, flagged how Trump’s net approval rating (percent approval minus percent disapproval) on immigration has gone “up like a rocket” between this time in his first term (-21) and now (+1).
“There is no issue on which Trump is doing so much better than he was in his first term, more than the issue of immigration,” he said.
Enten flipped to a CBS News/YouGov poll — conducted just prior to Saturday’s protests in Los Angeles and the events thereafter — where a majority of those approved of the administration’s efforts to deport people “here illegally” (54%) and agents searching their town for people they think are “here illegally” (51%).
