Iran warned it faces ‘Ayatollah-geddon’ if missile assaults attain British bases – skilled

With tensions rising further in the Middle East as the conflict deepens, one political expert has said that Iran should not risk firing on UK, US or French military bases

A political expert says Iran will face “Ayatollah-geddon” if they strike Western military bases.

Tensions in the Middle East are continuing to rise, as Iran and Israel continue to engage in skirmishes using ballistic missiles. Iranians are now on the move, trying to flee the capital of Tehran after American President Donald Trump ordered its evacuation.

With the conflict in the Middle East only deepening further, one political analyst has warned that Iran would be foolish to attack Western military bases. It comes after Iran warned that it will consider bombing UK, US and French bases in the area if they attempt defend Israel from the enslaught.

Professor Anthony Glees – a key international relations expert from the University of Buckingham said that the Iranian regime has “no interest” in trying to attack Britain, America and France. However, he did admit that the nations’ military bases are not fully out of danger.

“This is the crucial point, the ayatollahs have no interest at all in committing suicide,” Professor Glees said. “If they attacked us, we’d join the Israelis in obliterating them.

“The ayatollahs want power and will do anything to retain it. They will sooner back down in the next few days than attack us.”

He added: “What’s more, if they go for us and the French, the Americans will also be targeted. That will be Ayatollah-geddon.”

Professor Glees went on to say that Iran could find other ways to disrupt the UK’s operations in the area, and admitted that these could be viable, if unlikely threats. This includes various schemes that have been unearthed to infiltrate the UK from the inside and bring down change this way.

“MI5 has told us since 2022 it has disrupted 20 Iranian plots,” the analyst revealed. “Just a few days ago two different groups of Iranian secret agents were convicted here in the UK of evil works; however, I think MI5 is on the case here.”

Several other options are now being explored as to how Iran could impact the UK, while Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer orders jets to go to the area. Glees said that there could be attacks on troops, including the bombing of military bases.

Currently, the UK holds several military bases, with the main two being Akrotiri and Dhekelia on the island of Cyprus. While these are powerful, Glees dismissed the likelihood of those being attacked is low due them being “quite far away” from where the missiles would be shot from.

“Our bases in Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain and Oman are handy targets for the ayatollahs and their revolutionary guard,” Glees pointed out. It came just as the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the armed forces of the state – was killed just four days after his predecessor was also assassinated in the fighting.

He went on say: “As Churchill said when Hitler invaded Russia in the night of 21-22 June 1941 so making the USSR our ally in fighting him – ‘I’d make a favourable reference to the Devil if Hitler invaded Hell’. We’ll be making favourable references to Netanyahu if he kicks out the ayatollahs; they’re the bad side of evil.”
