Glasgow bridge on lockdown as bomb squad rush to scene after ‘machine’ discovered
A bridge in Glasgow has been locked down by police, with a bomb squad called in over a possible “ordnance device”.
The newly installed Renfrew Bridge spans across the Clyde river in Scotland, linking Renfrew and Yoker. It has now been closed to all traffic and pedestrians, with people asked to find alternative routes.
Authorities were alerted at 10am this morning, reports the Daily Record, after the device was discovered in a nearby building site. A Police Scotland statement read: “Renfrew Bridge is closed after a possible ordnance device was found around 10am this morning on a building site nearby.
