NASA pressured to share info on mysterious ‘alien spaceship’ hurtling in direction of Earth
A bizarre ‘alien craft’ shooting through our solar system could escape proper investigation because NASA isn’t sharing ‘precious data’ during the government shutdown, claims scientist
The mystery over 31/ATLAS, an interstellar object set to race past the earth by year-end, is deepening with claims of a NASA coverup. Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb is pressuring the space company to stop staying silent on vital clues in order to decipher the object before it leaves the solar system.
NASA has captured the best images of the comet or spaceship from its orbiter from Mars, he says. But the agency isn’t sharing its data during the US government shutdown. This “precious data is time sensitive” with a resolution of 30 km per pixel to help us decipher 3I/ATLAS before it’s too late. The interstellar object is tearing by at over 210,000 km/h (130,000 mph), the highest velocity ever recorded for a visitor to our solar system.
31/ATLAS is also the largest interstellar object ever discovered at about the size of Manhattan.
What’s more, the mystery object shows signs of non-gravitational acceleration and looked “bluer than the sun”, possible signs of an alien craft “engine”, according to Loeb.
About the information, he indirectly released a statement aimed at NASA. It read: “We should not hold science hostage to the shutdown politics of the day.
“The scientific community would have greatly benefited from the dissemination of this time-sensitive data as astronomers plan follow-up observations in the coming months”.
Elsewhere, NASA recently downplayed fears of an alien threat raised by Kim Kardashian.
“Wait … what’s the tea on 3I/ATLAS?!?!!!!!!!?????” she asked NASA’s acting administrator, Sean Duffy.
“Great question!” he told her. “NASA’s observations show that this is the third interstellar comet to pass through our solar system. No aliens. No threat to life here on Earth.”
Loeb suggested in a recent paper that 31/ATLAS’s acceleration, along with its startlingly blue appearance, could be signs of an artificially constructed craft.
“Alternatively, the non-gravitational acceleration might be the technological signature of an internal engine,” he wrote in a Medium post on Friday. “This might also explain the report on 3I/ATLAS getting ‘bluer than sun.’”
“It could potentially be explained by a hot engine or source of artificial light,” he wrote, but added that it could also be a natural signature of a comet.
You can now see the comet for yourself with a small telescope after it vanished by moving within 172 million miles of the sun.
3I/ATLAS is expected to make its closest pass to Earth on December 19, whizzing past at about 167 million miles away, and giving researchers their best shot at working out if it’s a comet or an artificial craft.
“If we do not observe a massive cloud of gas around 3I/ATLAS in December,” Loeb said it could be an indicator of a “propulsion system.”
