Tragedy of Eurotrash icon Lolo Ferrari – boobs created by Boeing engineer and thriller loss of life

Lolo Ferrari was the star of 90s late night Channel 4 show, Eurotrash. However, it turned out that there was a darkness behind the glamour of the French model. Let’s take a look at her tragic life – and death

Lolo Ferrari is a name hard to forget for many Brits who grew up in the 90s era of Eurotrash. However, her tragic life – and untimely death – may have slipped the memories of many people.

The French model and adult star exploded onto the scene after she landed a starring role in the late-night Channel 4 show. At the height of her fame, Lolo – real name Eve Valois – secured a Guinness World Record for having the ‘world’s biggest boobs’. It comes as the woman with ‘Finland’s largest breasts’ revealed her makeover.

Her 54G chest made the reality star instantly recognisable and bookable for X-rated appearances. However, the reasoning behind her ever-growing chest turned out to be disturbing – like much of her life.

Here, we take a look at the truth behind the life Lolo Ferrari and explore her ‘mysterious’ death at the young age of just 37.

Age-gap relationship

Lolo first started her modelling career when she was just 17 – and met her future husband, Eric Vigne, then 39, at the same time.

The pair were married within two years, with Eric – a former drug dealer – becoming her manager.

It was Eric who encouraged Lolo to start changing her body with plastic surgery and he became the ‘architect’ of her transformation.

Eric calculated the volume and diameter he wanted her breasts to be, then drew up plans so moulds could be made.

World record boobs

Lolo was most recognisable for her breasts – she was awarded a Guinness World Record for them in 2003. Although her 6.2lbs chest helped her pave a successful career, they didn’t come without tears.

The model bizarrely admitted that her staggering 22 boob jobs represented “childhood innocence” and “maternity.”

It is believed that some of Lolo’s boob implants were designed by an engineer who worked on Boeing 747s. The model spent five years sculpting the ‘perfect’ pair with a series of operations and also underwent surgery on her face.

Lolo’s breasts went from an already large 37D to a massive 54K, which contained 3L of silicone. She also shared that her massive chest brought her “comfort” in the emotional sense.

However, they eventually became a cause of anxiety and concern for Lolo.

Mental health struggles

Although it looked like she was the epitome of all things confidence, Lolo eventually admitted that she deeply struggled with depression.

She candidly revealed that she started suffering from depression after the limelight slipped away from her as the public grew tired of her Eurotrash persona.

Lolo felt “disconnected” from reality and only had the breast enhancements “because I can’t stand life.” She also became paranoid that her boobs would ‘explode’ during flights and experienced anxiety over whether frenzied ‘fans’ would try to burst her breasts.

During one interview, Lolo claimed that she struggled with childhood trauma as her mum took “revenge” on her because of her absent father.

Lolo said: “She [my mum] told me I was revolting too, that no one would ever want me. She hit me sometimes with a riding crop. I was frightened and I was ashamed; I wanted to change my face, my body, to transform myself.

“I wanted to die, really.”

Mystery death

Lolo was tragically found dead on March 5, 2000 – at the age of just 37. Her husband discovered her body at their home on the French Riviera.

Having slept downstairs because his wife was feeling unwell, Eric came upstairs to their bedroom in the morning to find her body was stone cold.

The initial autopsy determined that she had died of an overdose, due to the star suffering from depression and being found with antidepressants and tranquillisers in her system.

Lolo’s parents were not convinced and pushed for a second autopsy, which was approved two years later and found that death from a ‘mechanically-induced suffocation’ could not be ruled out.

Widower Eric was subsequently arrested for murder after being suspected of causing her death and went on to spend 13 months in prison.

A second medical analysis of Lolo’s body took place which cleared her husband of all charges, leading to his release in 2007.

The model’s actual cause of death still remains a mystery, 20 years after her passing.
