• President Donald Trump said he will release the results of his MRI test, which was taken in October.
• The White House had initially declined to explain why the US president underwent the MRI during his routine physical examination. However, President Trump told reporters on Sunday that he would “happily release” the results if requested.
• Trump stated that the results of the MRI were “perfect” and that he had “aced” other tests taken during his physical. He also boasted about passing a cognitive test.
• White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that Trump’s cardiovascular imaging report came back “perfectly normal”. She added there was “no evidence” of arterial narrowing impairing blood flow or abnormalities in the heart.”
• A statement from a doctor which was read out said: “All major organs appear very healthy and well-perfused.”
• The President previously told reporters he had “no idea” what part of his body the MRI was performed on. He insisted it wasn’t his brain and said: “What part of the body? It wasn’t the brain, because I took a cognitive test and I aced it.”
• White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that the president received “advanced imaging” at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in October. She added that the results showed President Trump remains in “exceptional physical health.”
• During the lead-up to the 2024 election, Trump had publicly questioned the age and health of the former US president Joe Biden.
• Former US President Joe Biden eventually withdrew from the US presidential race. Despite this, Trump has continued to criticize Biden’s health even in recent weeks hitting out at the former president apparently dozing off at an Oval Office press event.
