NHS hospital chaos as flu sufferers in beds throughout England rises greater than 50%

Hospitals could face a Christmas crisis as the number of flu patients in hospital beds across England is more than 50% higher than in 2024, according to NHS data.

Last week saw an average of 1,717 patients, including 69 in critical care, which shows a 56% increase from the previous year.
