Double tragedy as mum and daughter die days aside as household plans joint funeral
Annmarie McCann and her daughter, Bridin from West Belfast tragically died within days of each other as their devastated friends and relatives prepare to put them to rest
A mum and daughter from West Belfast are set to share a funeral after dying just days apart. Heartfelt tributes have poured in for Annmarie McCann and her daughter Bridin, who both died peacefully in hospital this week with their devoted family by their side.
Bridin passed away on November 30, with her mother Annmarie following a few days later on December 4, leaving their family and friends devastated, BelfastLive reports.
A tribute from Mallon Funeral Directors read: “McCann (nee Mervyn) Annmarie, died peacefully at hospital 4th December 2025. Surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife to Patsy. Adored mummy to Francine, Patrick, Carleen and the late Bridin. Loving Granny to Stephen, Ben, Caoimhe, Molly, Phelim and Conall. Great Granny, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and friend to many. R.I.P.
“Annmarie will arrive home to 59 Colinvale on Friday (Afternoon).
“McCann Bridin, died peacefully at hospital 30th November 2025. Surrounded by her loving family. Beloved daughter to Patsy and the late Annmarie.Loving mother to Caoimhe and Conall. A loving sister to Francine, Patrick and Carleen. Aunt, cousin and friend to many. R.I.P.
“Bridin is now home to the family home 59 Colinvale, for anyone wishing to call and pay their respects.”
“Annmarie and Bridin will both leave on Monday, December 8 at 9.30am for 10am Requiem Mass in The Church of the Nativity followed by burial in Milltown Cemetery. Our Lady Queen of Knock Pray for them.”
The tragic passing of Annmarie and Bridin has sparked a wave of sorrow on social media, with many extending their thoughts and prayers to the McCann family during this challenging period.
St Gall GAC shared a heartfelt message on social media: “All at Naomh Gall are deeply saddened to hear of the deaths of Ann-Marie and Bridin McCann , beloved mother and sister of our gaelic4mothers player Carleen, and granny and aunt to our underage players Molly and Phelim”.
