Human stays present in Lincolnshire countryside recognized as lacking man, police verify

The remains of a man who had been missing for nearly 18 months have been discovered, found on a farmland. Police confirmed that they been formally identified as those of Lincolnshire man Trevor Blanchard, who disappeared in June 2024.

According to the authorities, the man’s family have ben informed about the discovery, with no suspicious circumstances or signs of foul play, reports the Mirror. They requested privacy for Mr Blanchard’s family “as they come to terms with this tragic news”.

It comes after an elderly couple were mysteriously found dead after getting lost while travelling home on Thanksgiving. A police spokesperson said: “We are saddened to confirm that human remains have been located on farmland in Halton Holegate on November 22.

“These remains have been formally identified as belonging to 61-year-old missing man, Trevor Blanchard.

“We issued several appeals between June and October last year to assist in locating Trevor, who had been reported missing from the Spilsby area, and we are grateful to everyone who shared those appeals and supported the search.

“Trevor’s family have been informed of this development. Our deepest sympathies are with them and all who knew Trevor at this very difficult time.”

“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances or evidence of foul play in connection with this discovery. We respectfully ask that the family be given privacy and space as they come to terms with this tragic news.”

It comes a man was tragically been discovered dead after police were alerted to reports of a “man in a canal” in Birmingham.

Police confirmed the man was pronounced dead at the scene. A West Midlands Ambulance service spokesperson informed BirminghamLive: “We were called to an incident in an area off Bordesley Green East in Yardley, Birmingham at 1.48pm [November 18.]

“We sent an ambulance and paramedic officer to the scene. On arrival, crews found a man but sadly, it quickly became clear he could not be saved. He was confirmed dead at the scene.”

A police representative stated: “We were called to Bordesley Green East at around 1.20pm yesterday (November 18) to reports of a man in a canal. Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.”

“His death is not being treated as suspicious and will be referred to the coroner in due course.”
