Mohamed Salah ‘thinks Arne Slot is a misplaced trigger’ as ‘thoughts made up on Liverpool exit’

Mohamed Salah believes that Arne Slot is a lost cause and has already made his mind up on his Liverpool exit, according to a body language expert

Mohamed Salah has already decided he wants a “quick exit” from Liverpool.

The 33-year-old Egyptian’s future at Liverpool is under serious scrutiny after he hit out at Arne Slot in a furious interview after being left as an unused substitute as the Reds twice threw away winning positions to draw 3-3 at Leeds on Saturday.

Salah hasn’t started for the last three games, and two of those outings saw him left on the bench entirely. Speaking to media at Elland Road, Salah claimed he felt he had been ‘thrown under the bus’ and hit out at ‘broken promises.’

“I could not believe I was sitting on the bench for 90 minutes,” Salah fumed. “That’s the third time. It’s the first time in my career I think. I am very disappointed, I have done so much for this club over years, especially last season, It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus.

“That’s how I feel it. Someone wants me to get all the blame. The club promised me a lot in summer. Now I’m on bench, so I can say they haven’t kept those promises.

“I used to have a good relationship (with Slot). Now we don’t have any relationship and I don’t know why. (It) seems like someone does not want me in the club. I called my mum and dad and told them to come to the Brighton game.

“It doesn’t matter if I play or not. I’m going to enjoy it. I am just going to be at Anfield and say goodbye to the fans before the African Cup of Nations, because I don’t know what is going to happen when I am there.

“It’s not acceptable to me to be fair. If I was somewhere else, every club would protect its players. Now it’s: ‘Throw Mo under the bus because he is a problem in a team’.”

Speaking to OLBG, body language expert Darren Stanton analysed Salah’s extraordinary interview, concluding that the Egyptian has made up his mind and is genuinely angry and frustrated with his situation under Slot.

He said: “Mohamed Salah is an interesting guy to read. He’s so expressive.

“I believe he is being sincere and fully believes what he is saying, that he feels like he’s been thrown under the bus for Liverpool’s problems.

“His genuine sense of anger and frustration are clear to see. His bottom lip pouts which is a sign of anxiety and frustration.

“We do see some smiles from Salah too but they’re not real smiles. They’re fake smiles for masking.

“I think he’s already made up his mind. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s planning a quick exit. The way he’s talking and his expressions, I think he thinks this team and this manager and the club’s situation is a lost cause.

“He’s obviously become used to success at Liverpool and now he has issues with the team. Whether it’s the manager or his teammates, they’re no longer complying with what Salah wants or perhaps what he’s instructing himself.

“It’s clear Salah feels the buck stops with him as far as his own career goes so I personally think he is now looking for his way out, regardless of what happens with the management.”

Salah heads to AFCON on December 15 and is currently available for selection against Brighton. However, it remains to be seen whether Salah will be included in the squad, and if he has played his final game for Liverpool.
