Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried say they’re ‘safer collectively’ as they trace at previous destructive experiences on-set and being ‘burned sufficient occasions’

Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried have hinted at past on-set negative experiences as they spoke in a joint interview on Tuesday.

The actresses, who are next set to star in new movie The Housemaid, admitted that they are ‘safer together’ after being burned enough times’ as they discussed their close bond.

Starring on Good Housekeeping’s December 2025 digital cover, Sydney, 28, spoke about their connection and how they looked out for each other.

The film, which is set for release on December 19, sees the pair play bitter rivals, however, that couldn’t be further from their off-screen relationship.

Sydney said: ‘The first day we met, we were talking the entire time.’

Amanda agreed and added: ‘We were always on the same page, and we were in the same boat, and we had the same need to make this great and have fun.’

She continued: ‘I think we both have had enough experiences in our careers to know what the difference is between what we did, and you know, other experiences.

‘And I think you get burned enough times to know that we’re safer together.’

The upcoming thriller film is based on the popular book series by author Freida McFadden.

The Housemaid follows a ‘struggling woman [Sweeney]’ who ‘is happy to start over as a housemaid for an affluent, elite couple [Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar],’ according to IMDb.

It is the first of three instalments in McFadden’s Housemaid book series.

Sydney and Amanda opened up about the new project during an appearance on the Today show last week.

The two stars dished on having the chance to work together with director Paul Feig to bring the 2022 novel of the same name to life.

‘We were having so much,’ Sweeney said. ‘I think because it was so – there were so many twists and turns, it was crazy and unexpected. And we were just having a really great time.’

The Mean Girls actress jumped in to add, ‘We also, like, were kind of on the same page when it comes to our process and so, we just had fun.

‘You have to bring levity to some dark content and I think we – I think the dynamic we have in the movie is kind of electric because of the fact that we get along so well.’

The pair also humorously talked about having a ‘girls room’ on set, which consisted of a ‘big bed’ where they could unwind.

Seyfried expressed that she would enjoy crocheting and added, ‘Our friends would sit on the floor. It was cozy.’

Elsewhere, Sydney recently recalled being told to ‘fix her face’ by a cruel casting director when she was just 16-years-old.

The actress discussed her ‘awful’ audition experiences during an appearance on Live With Kelly And Mark.

She said: ‘I started when I was young so I had many auditions that did not go very well. I’ve had casting directors that are eating chips in the room when you are trying to audition.

‘I’ve been told I need to “fix my face” which is not fun at 16. It’s not a great experience growing up but you can have fun in it as well. You are going to get told “no” way more than you are going to be told “yes”.’
