Billionaires’ playground Nantucket rocked by unseemly public brawl on its quaint excessive road as festive lights twinkled

A festive celebration came to a screeching halt after Nantucket’s wealthy engaged in a holiday brawl, throwing punches on the island’s charming streets.

In a video from the Nantucket Current well-dressed men began to push and shove one another just off of Main street.

Their sudden violence interrupted the island’s annual Christmas Stroll, an event that encourages people to visit local businesses, allowing hundreds of witnesses to watch the brawl unfold on December 6.

Two or three groups broke out, attempting to throw punches at one another.

They appeared to be arguing and unable to hold themselves back from getting physical.

‘There were two groups, kind of like the jets and the sharks from West Side Story only in Ralph Lauren and Burberry,’ one witness told KISS108.

The brawl appeared between a young group of 20 or 30 somethings and a hyper-confident group of men over 50.

After a few seconds of pathetic pushing and shouting, a younger man suddenly jumped on to the back of an older man and clung on like a koala, escalating the entire situation.

As onlookers tried to separate them from one another, they scrambled, knocked one another to the ground, and punched each other squarely in the face.

Several women tried to deescalate the situation but ultimately Nantucket Police responded to the scene.

The Current reported that none of the people involved have pressed charges and no arrests were made.

It’s unclear what exactly led to the grown men fighting in the street, but the Nantucket community was abuzz with theories.

One Reddit commenter said they heard it was over a man that pushed a pregnant woman.

Another alleged that it started in line for the Boarding House, a popular restaurant that was holding an Après Ski-themed event in honor of the Christmas Stroll.
