Charming interval dwelling might be yours for £240,000 – however it’s hiding a VERY stunning shock within the cellar

A seemingly picture-perfect home has gone on for sale for just £240,000 but there is a very shocking surprise lurking in the basement.

The property in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, is billed online as a ‘charming period home brimming with history, character and personality’.

And from the outside, it looks every bit like the dream four-storey, stone-fronted house, complete with ‘architectural details and traditional features’.

It boasts a bright conservatory over the garden, a cosy kitchen and a light filled attic that would make a perfect studio for anyone arty.

But beneath the sash windows, striking fireplaces and delightful walled garden sits something far stranger.

In the cellar, there appears to be either a torture or electric chair, fitted with straps around the arm rests.

The unusual addition is not mentioned at all in the listing from estate agents Eadon Lockwood and Riddle.

However, there are two pictures of the chair among those showing off the interior of the home.

There is a skeleton painting in the attic and an animal head attached to the wall in the hallway.

According to the online listing, the property was originally a four-bedroom home but has since been reworked to create a bigger, more luxurious main bedroom.

It reads: ‘Spread across four floors, this distinctive property offers generous and versatile accommodation, with each space telling its own story through beautiful architectural details and traditional features.
