My 600lb Life star Pauline Potter useless after horror automotive crash

My 600lb Life star Pauline Potter has died, her son Dillon has confirmed.

The late TLC personality died on November 27 after suffering a multitude of health problems following a car accident in January.

In a video uploaded to her YouTube channel, Potter’s son shared details of the collision and explained that they had smashed into a broken-down truck on a highway.

He claimed that they had been driving in the early hours of the morning and that the truck did not have its hazard lights on.

‘My mom tried to swerve to go around it, but the passenger side of the car hit the side of the trailer and completely spun us around,’ he said.

‘When we stopped, we were facing the opposite direction on the opposite side of the road. At the time of impact, we were going 50mph.’

Over the last 11 months, Potter had been dealing with a range of health issues in the aftermath of the incident.

In July, after multiple trips to hospital, doctors discovered a blockage in her oesophagus which was preventing her from keeping any food down.

Potter was also diagnosed with Covid and was put in the ICU and was told by doctors she was showing signs of respiratory failure.

By November, she had entered hospice care before being released to her sister’s home.

There is no official cause of Potter’s death.

Dillon has launched a GoFundMe to raise money for his mother’s memorial.

Potter was 50 when she appeared on TLC’s My 600lb Life in 2015.

Her starting weight on the show was 678lbs. She lost more than 500lbs and qualified for skin removal surgery.

When viewers first met Pauline she was being cared for by her son and her niece Megan. She wasn’t able to do anything on her own except ‘feed and wipe’ herself.

‘I am absolutely trapped in this body,’ she explained. ‘I let myself get way out of control. I feel like I am dying every day.’

While her niece washed her hair and gave her sponge baths, Dillon had the full-time job of being her primary caregiver.

‘I do feel bad for Dillon just because it doesn’t seem like he has had much of a life,’ Megan said on the show, explaining to the cameras that his relationship with his mom is more like that of a client and their caregiver.

Before turning to the show, Potter was named the heaviest woman alive in the Guinness Book of Records in 2011.

At her heaviest, she weighed 677lbs.
