WW3 fears escalate as Pentagon information present US ‘loses each time’ in opposition to China

A top-secret US government briefing has reportedly concluded that China would triumph every time in a war over Taiwan, with America’s most advanced aircraft carrier frequently destroyed in simulations

A top-secret US government analysis has determined that China would triumph in a conflict over Taiwan – with America’s most advanced aircraft carrier obliterated by Chinese hypersonic missiles ‘within minutes’.

The revelation comes after Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth last year confessed “we lose every time” against China in the Pentagon’s war game simulations . The highly classified “Overmatch Brief” warns that US dependence on expensive and advanced weaponry renders it susceptible to China’s capacity to manufacture cheaper systems en masse, according to The Telegraph.

A national security aide working under previous President Joe Biden allegedly went ashen-faced after examining the report and learning that Beijing possessed “redundancy after redundancy” for “every trick we had up our sleeve,” as reported by The New York Times.

The fall of Taiwan, a crucial US partner and barrier against Chinese influence in the western Pacific, would inflict a catastrophic strategic and symbolic defeat on Washington.

The briefing details war games where the USS Gerald R Ford, America’s most sophisticated aircraft carrier, is routinely obliterated.

The $13bn (£9.75bn) warship, which became operational in 2022 following prolonged setbacks, remains exposed to strikes from diesel-electric submarines and China’s stockpile of approximately 600 hypersonic missiles, capable of reaching five times the speed of sound.

Eric Gomez, a research fellow at the Taiwan Security Monitor, took part in a war game replicating a Taiwan crisis and observed that whilst the final outcome remained uncertain, America endured substantial casualties.

“The US loses a lot of ships in the process. A lot of F-35s and other tactical aircraft in the theatre are degraded pretty rapidly too,” he told The Telegraph.

Last year, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth confessed that “we lose every time” in the Pentagon’s war games against China, forecasting that the Asian nation’s hypersonic missiles could obliterate aircraft carriers within minutes.

China has dramatically bolstered its stockpile of short, medium, and intermediate-range missiles, allowing it to annihilate many of America’s sophisticated weapons long before they could reach Taiwan.

As friction between the US and China continues to intensify over Taiwan’s future, the findings from the “Overmatch Brief” provide a sobering reminder of the obstacles the American armed forces might encounter in a prospective clash with its Asian adversary.

The analysis highlights the urgency for the US to revise its military tactics and technology to combat China’s expanding military prowess and preserve its strategic dominance in the region.
