UK {couples} are having fun with threesomes with AI bots who inform them methods to get steamy

As artificial intelligence continues to infiltrate every part of our lives, some Brits have gone all out and invited chatbots into the bedroom in order to get down and dirty

UK couples are enjoying “digital threesomes” with AI bots, new research shows. A quarter of Gen Z and Millennial Brits include chatbots in their discussions about sex, the study reveals.

While half of respondents from the age groups, covering 18-44-year-olds, are open to using artificial intelligence (AI) to spice things up. The latest Sex Trends Report said: “AI is predicted to play an even greater role in our intimate lives in 2026.

“AI is set to become a trusted confidant in the year ahead. With more people already turning to AI for advice over friends or partners, 2026 is expected to mark a major shift in how we seek guidance, validation and connection.”

But the survey of more than 2,000 UK adults, held by sex toys and lingerie firm Lovehoney, found Brits were suffering from “dating app fatigue”. It found just three in 10 Gen Z Brits had met a partner via web dating — a decline from the 35% of Millennials who discovered love online.

The report predicted singletons fed up with romance and hook-up apps would turn to speed dating and phone-free social events in 2026. Other trends identified in the study included younger Brits ditching one night stands.

It said: “Rejecting the ‘celibate generation’ stereotype, younger adults will prioritise emotional depth over casual flings.” The poll found 77% who still live with their parents would not drag a casual hook-up home, with just 19% getting jiggy after locking eyes with lovers on the dance floor.

It also found Brits were increasingly using astrology to check star signs for compatibility with potential love matches. Sexologist Elisabeth Neumann said: “With dating apps in decline, we’re seeing the return of analogue intimacy, from office romances to speed dating nights.

“This trend could unfold in stark contrast to technological advancements, with technology itself seducing us through AI dating coaches, digital threesomes and fantasy-fuelled escapism.” It comes as Brits are increasingly open to using sex robots using AI, some of which even have their own sense of personality.

Just last month, a new sex robot — with a reported sense of humour trained using AI — hit the shelves, as bosses believed that it could make you laugh more than a human. Named Emma, the Chinese-based engine sets couples back a whopping £4,220.

However, as the couple interact with the bot more, the AI will train itself and improve over time, leading to conversations that are “more realistic, more adaptable and more appealing to a global audience”. A spokesperson added: “While it’s not flawless, the AI keeps learning and improving with every interaction.”
