Breast cancer survivor Amy Dowden has gushed over Davina McCall after the presenter’s recent diagnosis.
The Strictly Come Dancing star, 35, has undergone chemotherapy, fertility treatment and a mastectomy after being diagnosed with the disease in 2023.
Meanwhile Davina, 58, revealed in November that she had also undergone surgery for breast cancer.
Both Amy and Davina appeared on Stand Up To Cancer on Saturday night where they opened up about their battles with the disease.
Sharing a backstage snap from the night on Instagram on Sunday, Amy posed with ‘remarkable’ Davina, who she praised for showing her kindness after her own diagnosis.
‘I will never forget the kindness you showed me when I was struggling with the impact of my hormone cancer needing me to go into early menopause,’ Amy wrote. ‘Everyone is here for you as you were for them.’

Amy wore a burgundy overlay sleeveless jumpsuit for the airing, while Davina opted for a dark brown ruffled blouse with matching trousers.
‘It is always a pleasure to run into this remarkable woman, but bumping into @davinamccall this time meant so much more,’ Amy captioned the picture.
‘After her recent diagnosis getting to see her in person so strong and radiant was incredibly moving. Her courage in speaking out and sharing her journey is already making such a difference.
‘Helping to raise awareness and reminding so many people that they are not alone.’
She added: ‘We also somehow managed to turn up in the same colour outfit…clearly a great dress sense all round! Two pink sisters.’
During the show, Amy gave a heartbreaking health update, saying she doesn’t think she will ever become a mother after years of battling breast cancer.

‘Five weeks ago I had another mastectomy, so I’m no longer attached to my body. I’m so proud of how far it’s come and I’m so grateful for another shot of life.’
‘A cancer diagnosis changes you forever, I’m no longer the person I was and that’s not by choice.’
‘After I rang that chemo bell, I felt the effects of chemotherapy more than ever. I was drained, I was scared, I had this whole journey ahead and I was at a mental all time low.
‘I never thought I was going to get back on the dance floor, I couldn’t see how I was going to get Amy back again. I hated the way I looked, I had no energy and I was petrified. I used to cry myself to sleep. I just longed for that old Amy back and I know I’m never ever going to get her back.’
She added: ‘Being able get back on the dance floor, I’m going on tour with my friend next year… I’m just so grateful for my medical team, the doctors and nurses who have kept me alive.’
Elsewhere Davina was moved to tears when a cancer patient at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge asked her how she was doing during the Cancer Clinic Live segment.
Davina joined Stewart and his partner Michelle at the clinic to discuss his battle with bowel cancer.
The one-off live clinic followed patients at pivotal moments – from receiving test results to undergoing treatment.

Towards the end of their emotional chat, Davina wished Stewart well, and he returned the sentiment, leaving the star visibly overwhelmed.
Choking back tears, she said: ‘Can I just say, you asking me that, I can’t believe that.’
She added: ‘Can I just say something, I’m really good.’ Good, that’s what I like to hear,’ Stewart replied, as Davina sweetly cupped the side of his face and thanked him for his kindness.
As he walked away with his partner, Davina, still teary-eyed, called after them: ‘Have a great meeting, thank you. Happy Christmas both of you – love you.’
During the segment, Davina also urged the public not to skip their cancer screenings.
Speaking live from Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where she presented Cancer Clinic Live as part of Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer broadcast, she said: ‘Right now, finding cancer early is still the most effective step,
‘So if there’s one thing you’ve learned tonight, it’s that you might think you don’t want to and you might thing you don’t want to know, but I’m telling you, you do. Don’t be afraid, you are your own best defence. It is so important to pay attention to your own body, for you and for the people that love you.’
