Gladiators star Legend is enjoying himself on BBC present and insists ‘I’m the entire package deal’

Matt Morsia is best known as the cocky and panto villain character on BBC smash hit Gladiators, and now he has revealed once the cameras stop rolling, his persona doesn’t change

Matt Morsia has revealed his cocky persona on smash show Gladiators is no act. He has insisted that he is in fact exactly like his on-screen alter ego in real life as well. The hunk is very gobby when he’s appearing as Legend on the hit show since it returned to screens on the BBC back in 2024. And it turns out he’s just being himself.

He said: “I’m very similar to Legend, that’s kind of me. Legend is just a slightly dialled up version of me — it’s not dissimilar to what I’m like normally.”

Matt insists he’s super confident in real life just like Legend. He said: “I don’t really get nervous; I’m the opposite, I love high‑pressure, intense situations where there’s a huge risk of failure. That’s what I thrive on.

“And I’m doing my funny lines all the time. I’m just a funny guy.” Matt will be back on the box on the celeb version of The Apprentice later this month.

When he signed up, he was convinced he should be project manager. He said: “I have every possible skill set you could ever wish for as a project manager, leadership, charisma, looks, experience.

“I’m the whole package,” the muscle man insisted. “I’ve built two multimillion‑pound companies from scratch with zero investment.

“The Apprentice is an iconic show and ultimately I knew I’d be good at it. So it felt like the perfect opportunity to showcase my entrepreneurial ability.”

Morsia first joined the BBC hit show when it was rebooted in 2023, with the first show airing in January of 2024. Before the show officially came back, Morsia admitted it had been a “lifelong ambition” to get the show back.

The TV star has already had a huge career in fitness, being a former Championship bronze medallist in both the long jump and the triple jump. As well this, he is also an ex-silver medallist in powerlifting, showing off his amazing strength.
