Aldi points pressing recall of Christmas meals merchandise as warning issued to consumers

The supermarket is recalling its Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets due to them containing an undeclared allergen. The Food Standards Agency is warning the item could pose a health risk to some shoppers

Aldi has launched an urgent recall of a festive food product, cautioning customers that it could present a “possible health risk” if eaten. The budget retailer is pulling its Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets from shelves after discovering they contain an “undeclared” allergen.

Since the product was mislabelled and failed to highlight this allergen on its packaging, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has cautioned the item could present a “health risk” to certain customers.

Aldi’s Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets contain the undisclosed allergen egg, with the FSA urging anyone with an egg allergy to avoid eating the product.

In a product recall announcement, the FSA stated: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg do not eat it. Instead return it to your nearest Aldi store for a full refund.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Aldi has also released a product safety alert, with the supermarket explaining the recall is happening as a “precautionary measure.”

The retailer added: “We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your cooperation.”

Customers are now being advised to take any affected batches of the Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets back to their local Aldi branch.

Affected batches of the 278g packs of Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets carry the use by date of December 15 2025. For additional details regarding the recall, customers can ring Aldi’s Customer services team on 0800 042 0800.

The retailer is also believed to have put up point-of-sale notices in stores to make shoppers aware of the recall.

This recall follows another incident earlier this month when Aldi pulled Dairyfine Salted Caramel Filled Gonks from shelves after discovering they contained peanuts that weren’t listed on the packaging.

The sweet treats were withdrawn as they could potentially harm anyone with a peanut allergy who was unaware of the hidden ingredient.
