Horror as automobile ploughs by Scots major faculty gates throughout ‘police chase’

A car crashed through the gates of a primary school leaving staff and pupils horrified. The incident happened at Castleton Primary School in Castleton, Glasgow this morning (December 15).

Police say the driver “failed to stop” before the car ploughed through a metal fence while pupils were luckily inside. Police and paramedics were called to the scene and a 40-year-old man was arrested.

Speaking to the Sun, mum Marie Shannon, 52, from Carmunnock said: “I saw a few police cars and ambulances outside the school this morning at about 9.30am.

“It happened just as the kids were going into the school. A lollipop lady stands at those gates every day. Someone could easily have been killed.”

Another said it wasn’t the first time something like that has happened at the school and added: “It’s really scary.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.20am on Monday, December 15, 2025 a car crashed into a fence on Dougrie Road, Castlemilk, Glasgow after failing to stop for police.

“Emergency services attended. There were no reports of anyone injured.

“A 40-year-old man will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with road traffic offences.”

A council spokeswoman said: “Everyone at the school is fine and everyone was in the school building at the time, as fortunately it was after the start of the school day.”
