Moment devastated Travis Kelce walks straight previous younger Kansas City Chiefs followers after playoff catastrophe
A crestfallen Travis Kelce was in no mood to stop for a group of young Kansas City Chiefs fans after their season-ending defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
The Chiefs have been eliminated from playoff contention following a 16-13 loss to the Chargers at their own Arrowhead Stadium, meaning they will not be involved in the postseason for the first time since 2014.
It also means Andy Reid‘s team will be absent from the Super Bowl for the first time since 2022, having won consecutive titles before coming up short in their bid for a ‘three-peat’ last season. Instead, they now have nothing left to play for in 2025.
The do-or-die defeat to LA is a gut-wrenching one for Kansas City and particularly for Kelce, who opted against retiring after last year’s Super Bowl thrashing at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 36-year-old, who had his fiancée Taylor Swift in the stands at Arrowhead, looked heartbroken as he trudged back to the locker room following the loss.
In a video shared on social media by Kansas City sports reporter McKenzie Nelson, Kelce is seen walking past a group of young Chiefs fans who were calling for him to sign autographs and take photos in the tunnel after the game.

He can be heard telling them as he makes his way back to the locker room: ‘Not right now y’all.’
Kelce must now weigh up whether to play on for a 14th season in the NFL or bring his Chiefs career to a sad end after failing to make it into the playoffs.
Kansas City had reached the postseason every year without fail since Patrick Mahomes became the team’s starting quarterback in 2018, but the former back-to-back Super Bowl champions’ dynasty appears to be over.
At 6-8, they are also on the verge of putting up their first losing season since 2012.
Their playoff disaster will now raise questions about the future of several older players in the Chiefs locker room, including Kelce.
As well as the young fans who lined up in the tunnel, the legendary tight end also turned down interviews with the media after Sunday’s defeat.
Kelce declined to speak to reporters in the locker room following the loss, according to The Athletic’s Jesse Newell.
‘It’s not the time. I’ll catch you guys during the week,’ he reportedly told members of the media.

Sunday wasn’t the first time that Kelce has declined to participate this season. Just last week, he also kept quiet after the Chiefs had fallen 6-7 for the season with a lackluster 20-10 defeat to the Houston Texans.
With three minutes remaining and the Chiefs desperately trying to claw their way back into the game against the Texans, the three-time Super Bowl winner had spilled a pass from Patrick Mahomes that led to an interception.
Furthermore, last month, he also refused to speak to reporters following Kansas City’s defeat to the Denver Broncos that saw them fall to 5-5.
