Nobel Peace Prize winner is handled in Norway after struggling fractured vertebra throughout her escape from Venezuela in small fishing boat

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado has suffered a fractured vertebra after escaping the country via fishing boat.

The Nobel Peace Prize laureate was said to have sustained the injury last Monday during a high-risk sea crossing to Norway.

It comes a day after Ms Machado voice support for Washington’s pressure campaign against president Nicolas Maduro.

She had said in an interview she ‘absolutely supports President Trump’s strategy’ adding Venezuelan people are ‘very grateful to him’ as he is a ‘champion of freedom in this hemisphere’.
