In the meantime, Pawson who played one T20 match at Big Bash level for the Sydney Thunder in the 2023 finals, has been removed from the list of contracted players on the NSW Cricket website.

The Sydney Morning Herald has reported that Cricket NSW became aware of a serious complaint and called an emergency board meeting to consider the matter.

Following that meeting, Pawson’s registration to play cricket was cancelled with immediate effect.

Cricket NSW said the cancellation resulted in an indefinite suspension.

‘After being made aware of a serious complaint the Cricket NSW Board determined to permanently cancel a player’s registration effective immediately,’ Cricket NSW told the Daily Mail.

‘As a result, he is suspended indefinitely from involvement in all cricket related matters.

‘We cannot comment further on this matter while investigations are ongoing.’

Pawson has maintained his innocence at all times.

‘I completely deny the allegation. It is absolutely rubbish!’ Pawson said in a statement provided to the Herald.

One alleged victim made a complaint to the Northern District club, which then passed the information on to Cricket NSW.

Media reports have said there may be more than one complainant, although this has not been confirmed publicly.

A Northern District spokesperson said the club was aware of the allegations and acted as soon as it was notified.

The club confirmed Pawson has been suspended from all club activities while investigations continue.

Pawson has played two first-class matches for NSW since making his debut in February, including a Sheffield Shield match against Queensland.

He also played for the Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League.
