Aled Jones has insisted he has had ‘nothing to do’ with his daughter Emilia’s Hollywood success.
The singer, 54, revealed his daughter, 23, who starred in the Academy Award winning film CODA, still lives at home and has no career help from him.
Speaking to The Times, he said: ‘She was in the film Coda in 2021, which won three Oscars. She worked so hard for it, studying sign language for nine months. I could burst with pride at her achievements.
‘She was in Shrek The Musical in the West End when she was nine, but to go from that to an Oscar-winning film was quite something.’
Aled, who gained fame in 1985 with his recording of Walking In The Air, insisted many people aren’t aware Emilia is his daughter.
He said: ‘Lots of people still don’t realise she’s my daughter, which means no accusations of nepotism. I’ve had nothing to do with her success — hosting Songs Of Praise doesn’t get you much sway in Hollywood!’

Elsewhere during his interview, Aled recalled the success Walking In The Air brought him as a young teen.
The star said ‘lots of other opportunities’ came his way and Sir Terry Wogan advised him to ‘spread myself as thinly as possible’ because it makes it harder for people to ‘get rid of you’.
Emilia’s most recent role was in action thriller The Running Man alongside Hollywood A-lister Glen Powell.
The film, based on the novel by Stephen King, under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, premiered last month.
It takes place in a dystopian future where a TV show follows criminal ‘runners’ escaping professional killers.
The novel cantered on a desperate man who needs money for his sick daughter, so he joins the popular TV show The Running Man.
The longer a contestant survives, the more money that person makes with Richards soon taking on the show’s dark secrets and villainous producers.

The original movie, directed by Paul Michael Glaser, has gained cult status since its 1987 moderate box office success and mixed reviews from critics.
Emilia will next be seen in the upcoming film Tony, a biopic of the late celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain. She will play his first wife Nancy Putkoski.
