Follow Daily Mail Sport’s live blog for all the latest scores and updates from the third Ashes Test in Adelaide.

The Snicko controversy goes on

As you’ll read below, England could take the drama over Alex Carey’s edge to another level.

The team and their fans are furious over the failure of the Snicko technology used in Australia after the company behind it admitted an awful mistake was made…

Another huge crowd on the way

Yesterday a record 56,298 crammed into Adelaide Oval – and judging by the scenes this morning (below) we can expect another massive attendance today.

Carey reflects on his century… and THAT edge

Carey’s wife Eloise (pictured bottom) was in tears of joy after he paid tribute to his late father (pictured top) when he hit his hometown ton.

This morning, the keeper spoke to Aussie host broadcaster Channel Seven about the two biggest stories from yesterday’s play…

‘There was a noise,’ he said of the edge when he was on 72.

‘As a wicketkeeper I definitely would have gone up. A bit of luck is always nice.

‘I walked out to bat to achieve scoring 100 and to do that on Adelaide Oval, a place I love, and I grew up here and played for South Australia, to have family and friends and an amazing crowd of 56,000, and obviously to look up to the heavens for my dad, it was a special moment.

‘She [Eloise] was very teary. To have my mum, my brother and sister [at the ground], it was a great day, but we have a lot of work to do.

‘I wish I was out there this morning.’

Catch up with the moments you missed

The Mail’s Ashes Breakfast will bring you up to date with the most dramatic and noteworthy moment’s from the first day’s play…

Will Jofra bring his pillow today?

Former England skipper Michael Vaughan has praised the quick for his play on day one, when he terrorised the Aussies to finish with figures of 3-29 from 16 overs.

And he made a cheeky reference to one of the stranger sights of the series, when Archer was spotted bringing a pillow with him to the Gabba in an act that saw him get skewered by Aussie fans and commentators like Matthew Hayden…

How Alex Carey infuriated England

Here’s the centurion being brutally honest about the edge that has lit a fire under the series…

Who came out on top on day one?

Despite the very emotional hometown century to Carey, you’d have to say the Lions had the better of play.

The wicket and conditions won’t get much better for a batting team anywhere in the world, and the Aussie top order – Carey and Khawaja excepted – threw their wickets away with incredibly rash shots.

Adelaide is forecast to hit 39C today, so barring a miraculous tail-wagging effort from Starc, Lyon and Boland, the Aussies will have to bowl in that withering heat.

England great Kevin Pietersen believes the tourists could go on to rack up a staggering total in their first innings… if they ‘bat with a brain’.

G’day and welcome

Thanks for joining us for the Daily Mail’s coverage of day two in the third Ashes Test at Adelaide Oval.

Yesterday was a rollercoaster ride, with England getting right on top courtesy of some great bowling and very poor batting from the hosts, with Australia finishing on 8-326 thanks to Usman Khawaja’s 82 and that brilliant but highly controversial century from Alex Carey.
