POLL OF THE DAY: Is Britain proper to rejoin the Erasmus EU schooling scheme?

The UK will rejoin the European Union‘s Erasmus student exchange scheme – but Sir Keir Starmer has been accused of ‘throwing billions away’ to reverse Brexit.
EU relations minister Nick Thomas-Symonds said the breakthrough ‘is a huge win for our young people’, who will be able to study, train or gain work experience under the scheme from January 2027.
Work on the UK joining Erasmus was announced as part of the Prime Minister’s post-Brexit reset deal with Brussels in May. The UK left the scheme under Boris Johnson, who argued it did not offer value for money.
Sir Keir’s ministers have defended the bill for rejoining Erasmus – which could hit almost £1billion a year – saying it would provide priceless benefits to students hoping to study abroad.
But critics said the Prime Minister has lost sight of value for money in his haste to unpick Brexit.
Now, you can have your say – do you agree with Britain rejoining the scheme?
In yesterday’s poll, Mail readers were asked: ‘Should the BBC introduce adverts to increase its income?‘ Out of more than 7,000 votes, 63% of you said ‘yes’ and 37% said ‘no’
