Parents’ fury over ‘completely disgraceful’ college lunch wrap with only one meagre slice of ham… however has YOUR youngster been served worse?

A parent was furious after their child shared a picture of their school lunch – a wrap with one meagre slice of ham.

The pupil at Scarborough University Technical College (UTC) shared a photo of the meagre meal which they claimed was provided by the school.

In a post on a local Facebook group, the parent shared the image of the lunch from their child.

They believed that the issue has not been raised before because children are not allowed their phones during school time.

The post read: ‘Scarborough UTC food absolutely disgraceful. Got this photo from my child yesterday.

‘The best way to say it is I’m appalled at how this is acceptable in a school. Some kids rely on school meals, and this is what they get given.’

In a later post, the parent added: ‘I forgot to mention there were two in the packet but I totally agree the price and condition of this food is unbelievable.’

The post received more than 100 comments from angry parents sharing their frustration about the paltry meal.

One wrote: ‘Disgraceful, dry plastic wrap.’

Lisa Gingers commented: ‘Looks like a rolled up panty liner.’

Another responded: ‘I would be p***** off if that’s all my grandson’s got, my daughter is a single parent with a part time job. She has to pay for school dinners for both her kids.’

Others pointed out that they would be ‘annoyed’ if they had paid for school lunches and that is all their child received.

According to the school’s online lunch menu, which caters to pupils years 9-13, wraps come as either ‘plain’ for £2.15 or as ‘premium’ for £2.80.

Scarborough University Technical College is a mixed University Technical College located in Scarborough.

It opened in 2016 and caters for students aged 14–18 years on Weaponness Coach Park, in a purpose-built building.
