Football reporter, 27, dies in plunge from Seventh flooring after cryptic last message

A stunning football influencer has plunged to her death from her 7th-floor apartment after posting a cryptic message for her followers.

Malina Maria Guler was a huge fan of Romanian side FC Bihor Oradea, the phoenix club of FC Bihor. She attended most home games and became a reporter and club photographer alongside her role as a popular football influencer, covering the second division outfit’s ups and downs including promotion in 2024.

Malina, who had more than 40,000 followers on Instagram and Facebook, also covered other events in her home city, including music concerts. But the 27-year-old tragically passed away on Saturday morning (December 20).

She reportedly fell from the apartment she rented in Oradea, Romania, where the club is based. Malina studied journalism at university and had a strong passion for photography and football, as reported by What’s The Jam.

But she recently started showing up less for games, worrying fans and colleagues. According to those close to her, Malina seemed overwhelmed by personal problems.

Her father was seriously ill, and she herself was reportedly battling a form of cancer.

On Friday evening, just a few hours before her death, she shared footage showing her attending a concert on a public square, while Romanian rap artist Cabron was performing.

The snippet included the lyrics: “Give me time, God, at least a season…”

A spokesperson for FC Bihor club said: “Malina was with the club in the 2023–2024 season, a season when we achieved promotion to the second division, contributing through professionalism and dedication to capturing moments and the emotions of this sporting journey.

“We send our sincere condolences to the bereaved family, loved ones and all those who knew her.”

Fans also paid tribute to Malina and her work online, with one writing: “Smooth ride to the heavens, may your soul be relieved and at peace finally. Who knew you knows what Oradea lost.”

A second fan commented: “Rest in peace beautiful soul.” And a third said: “May you rest in peace.”

Police are investigating whether her troubles and health concerns played a part in her death.
