Mum ‘kidnapped’ 4 youngsters fearing the ‘finish of days’ as manhunt launched
A mum accused of abducting her four children and taking them to Europe has been charged with four counts of custodial interference, with a warrant issued for her arrest
A mum has been accused of abducting her four children and taking them to Europe as she feared the “end times” were near. A warrant has now been issued for her arrest as her ex-husband campaigns for the youngsters to be brought back home.
Surveillance footage captured Elleshia Anne Seymour, from Utah in the USA, boarding a one-way international flight to Croatia with the four children from Salt Lake City International Airport on November 30, according to ABC4. The Delta Airlines flight was bound for the Eastern European country with a stop in Amsterdam.
Ms Seymour, 35, shares partial custody of her four children, aged between three and 11, with her two ex-husbands, reports the New York Post. She is believed to be somewhere in Europe.
Officials only realised she and the children were missing when she didn’t turn up to work and stopped answering messages, leading to a welfare check at her home on December 2.
The same day, Seymour left a voicemail with one of the fathers, saying that she was with the children in France, where she planned to secure permanent residence because the “end times” were near, ABC4 reported .
Seymour’s ex-husband, Kendall Seymour, shares the three oldest children with his ex-wife. He wrote on GoFundMe : “To put it bluntly, my kids have been abducted overseas by their mother. My ex-wife flew to Europe, kidnapping all three of my kids and her fourth child from another dad. We didn’t learn until Tuesday, Dec. 2, that anyone was missing.”
The worried father alleged Ms Seymour had forged passport documents for the children and left a note “dictating a delusional message from God,” that promised she would be in Italy by Christmas.
A to-do list was also left behind at her house, reportedly containing entries such as “shred paperwork, destroy identifying photos, throw away phone, purchase pre-paid phone.”
The Utah Department of Public Safety issued an endangered and missing advisory for the children on December 10, listing Ms Seymour as the abductor and stating she left her car at the airport and fled the country.
She has since been charged with four counts of custodial interference, a third-degree felony, according to the Utah State Legislature.
A temporary emergency protective order and a no-bail arrest warrant were issued. The FBI is assisting the local police with the investigation, and Kendall Seymour hopes the state warrant is turned into a federal warrant that would allow INTERPOL to create an arrest warrant for the mother.
He said: “Hopefully, the next step is I get a phone call that she’s been found and then I can fly out and find the kids. As soon as that happens, me and my fiancé were going to drop everything and go get them.”
