New Year’s Eve horror after a number of individuals struck by automotive as police warn ‘keep away from space’

Police are dealing with a major incident after crash has seen multiple pedestrians hit by a car on New Year’s Eve.

The incident was reported at 12.34pm on Wednesday (December 31), with police currently at the scene of the crash on Main Street in Bullwell, Nottinghamshire.. It is believed at least three people have been injured as a result of the road traffic collision.

According to Nottinghamshire Live, the force believe driver suffering a medical episode while at the wheel.

Police have now urged people to “avoid the area” as the huge cordon is likely to be in place for some time.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: “We are currently in attendance at a road traffic collision involving a car and three pedestrians in Main Street, Bulwell.

“At the moment, we believe the driver has suffered a medical episode at the wheel. The road is expected to be closed for some time while investigations take place.

“People are being advised to find alternative routes and avoid the area.”

The major incident has also seen traffic delays in the town as Main Street in Bulwell is closed in both directions.

It is closed from the junction with Station Road to Highbury Road, according to Nottingham Travelwise – the city’s traffic control centre.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix has also said traffic is now queueing from Jennison Street to Ravensworth Road.
