Trump warns Iran US is ‘locked and loaded’ to help protestors towards regime
The President said the US was ready to ‘come to the rescue’ of Iranian protestors
President Trump warned the US is ready to intervene in Iran shoots protestors as demonstrations are sweeping the Middle-Eastern country.
In a message on Truth Social the President said: “If Iran shots and violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their custom, the United States of America will come to their rescue. We are locked and loaded and ready to go. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
The threat of US intervention comes after reports that six people have been killed in Iran and demonstrations across the country enter their fifth day.
Protestors have taken to the streets in frustration with soaring inflation which has led to the collapse in living standards. Protestors have clashed with security forces in Tehran and cities across the country.
Videos posted on social media showed cars set on fire during clashes with protestors and security groups.
The semi-official Fars news agency has reported that two people died in clashes in the city of Lordegan, and three more people were killed in the city of Azna and another in Kouhdasht. All these cities are in the west of the country.
President Masoud Pezeshkian has said his government will listen to the protesters. However the countries top prosecutor has warned there will be a “decisive” response to the protests.
