BREAKING Girl ‘falls out of ambulance’ on M6 motorway as emergency providers swarm scene

Emergency crews raced to a major motorway after reports that a teenage girl had tumbled from the back of an ambulance.

The youngster was taken to hospital following the shocking incident, which led to the closure of the M6 Southbound. First responders were dispatched to junction 32, where the motorway connects with the M55, on Tuesday (January 6) evening.

Fortunately, the girl is believed to have escaped without sustaining any severe injuries. Lancashire Police confirmed they were dealing with a road traffic collision and cautioned that the carriageway would remain ‘closed for some time’ whilst officers evaluated the circumstances.

Motorists were urged to steer clear of the area and ‘seek an alternative route’.

The drama unfolded at 5.17pm, with all carriageways reopening by approximately 7pm, according to Lancs Live.

In a subsequent update, Lancashire Police revealed: “At 5:17pm on Tuesday 6th January, we received a report that a teenage girl had fallen from the back of an ambulance on the M6 southbound to M55 slip road.

“She has been taken to hospital but is thankfully not thought to have suffered any serious injuries. The motorway was closed for a short period and has now fully reopened.”

Meanwhile, nine school children have been hurt in a collision involving a bus and a coach on a slip road in Berkshire.

The youngsters, who were on a school coach, sustained minor injuries, as did the coach’s driver. Eight adults aboard a bus were also injured during the incident, which occurred on the A3290 slip road leading to the Sutton Seeds Roundabout in Earley around 08:25am.

South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) suggested that one child and one adult may require hospitalisation for further treatment.

A spokesperson for the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) stated they were initially summoned to a vehicle fire on the slip road, only to discover upon arrival that there had been a crash and the bus’s engine was ablaze.

RBFRS, SCAS and Thames Valley Police have urged the public to steer clear of the area due to likely disruptions while emergency services attend to the scene.

SCAS reported that another two-car smash on the same slip road earlier on Wednesday morning resulted in no injuries.
