BREAKING Anthony Joshua ‘wants time’ after crash tragedy earlier than choice says Eddie Hearn

Eddie Hearn has admitted Anthony Joshua “needs time” following a fatal car crash in Nigeria which killed two close friends of the British heavyweight.

Kevin Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami were killed in the crash that left the boxer hospitalised last month. Joshua has since return to the UK for treatment, where he attended the funerals of his two fallen friends.

And speaking to talkSPORT, Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, issued a short update on the boxer – who is being given time to recover and grieve from the crash. He said: “I think to be honest at this stage, it’s definitely a no comment from us.

“Just because of the respect to Anthony. Obviously with everything he’s been through with the tragic loss of Sina and Latz.

“At the moment, Anthony needs time. Time and privacy. There will be no conversations from us about a career, any moves, what’s next.

“This is a terrible tragedy and Anthony’s going to need his own time, physically and emotionally.

“And at the moment, there’s nothing to discuss or say. Let’s give him his time and pray for him and of course all the families involved in this terrible incident.”
