BREAKING Leeds icon Terry Yorath dies at 75 as daughter Gabby Logan compelled to go away MOTD

Leeds United and Wales icon Terry Yorath has died aged 75. Yorath’s daughter, Gabby Logan, was forced to leave Match of the Day midway through the show due to a “family emergency” on Wednesday evening.

Yorath had been battling a short illness, and his children released a short statement: “To most he was a revered footballing hero, but to us he was Dad; a quiet, kind and gentle man. Our hearts are broken but we take comfort knowing that he will be reunited with our brother, Daniel.”

He turned professional with Leeds in 1967, scoring 11 goals in 1999 appearances for the Peacocks. Under the great Don Revie, Yorath played for a Leeds side that won the First Division in 1974 – he also earned runners-up medals in the European Cup and Cup Winners Cup.
