Man Utd switch information: Bradley Barcola eyed for transfer as ‘critical’ plan emerges
Manchester United drew with Burnley following Ruben Amorim’s sacking as the club remain active in the January transfer window with multiple players linked with moves
Manchester United’s first match following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim saw the same old issues resurface as they were held to a draw by Burnley in Wednesday night’s Premier League clash.
Benjamin Sekso netted twice in Darren Fletcher’s debut game as interim manager at Turf Moor, only for Jaidon Anthony to equalise. Despite Shea Lacey rattling the crossbar, United couldn’t find a winning goal to secure their position in the Champions League spots.
Despite the ongoing speculation about the managerial position at Old Trafford, United continue to be linked with potential new signings. Daily Star Sport brings you news of a fresh attacking target and one player who could be heading out on loan this month….
Bradley Barcola eyed for summer move
United are reportedly among the clubs interested in Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, ahead of a pivotal time in his career. The French striker is rumoured to be leaving the European champions, with L’Equipe suggesting he could become a ‘real topic’ come the end of the season, reports the Mirror.
Yan Diomande, previously linked with United, is said to be on PSG’s radar as a possible replacement for Barcola. TEAMtalk has now reported that United are competing with Liverpool to sign the forward, but may have to fork out £87million to secure his services.
There’s also the potential for Marcus Rashford to be part of the deal, following previous reports suggesting he could be included in a swap offer if Barcelona don’t sign him outright.
‘Serious’ Manuel Ugarte plan emerges
Ajax have pinpointed Manuel Ugarte as a potential midfield signing this month, Dutch publication VI reports. The Uruguayan international is reportedly open to a move to Amsterdam after finding it difficult to adjust to the Premier League.
The Dutch outfit are eager to secure Ugarte on loan for the remainder of the season. However, his reported £120,000-per-week wage could pose a problem, with United potentially having to negotiate on the percentage of the salary Ajax would cover.
Ugarte was in the starting line-up for United’s Premier League match against Burnley, playing alongside Casemiro.
