MS NOW Host Torches ‘Absolutely Insane’ Trump Over Idea To Invade Greenland

MS NOW host Joe Scarborough on Wednesday launched into an unbridled rant about “absolutely insane” President Donald Trump and his proposal to acquire Greenland by military force.

He also slammed the unnamed billionaires apparently endorsing this “stupid shit.”

“It’s insanity,” Scarborough told his “Morning Joe” co-host Jonathan Lemire. “And the fact is that they are good NATO partners of ours, so you can’t even claim that it’s damaging to America’s national security interests, because, well, they’re our NATO ally.”

He continued, “And the White House yesterday, John, saying that invading Greenland has always been an option. No, it’s not an option, unless you are absolutely insane. Unless you want to turn your back on what the United States of America has been doing since 1945.”

The White House confirmed Tuesday that Trump and his advisers are looking at “a range of options” to acquire Greenland, a self-governing territory of Denmark, stating that the use of U.S. military force to do so is “always an option.”

The leaders of France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland and the U.K. joined Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in a statement declaring Greenland “belongs to its people” — and that “only” Greenland and Denmark get “to decide on matters” concerning them.

While NATO allies such as France and Germany are already planning how to respond should Trump act on his threat, which looks far more serious in light of the U.S. military operation in Venezuela, several billionaire Trump donors have reportedly pushed for it.

Greenland holds a vast amount of untapped minerals required to build modern computers, smartphones and other technologies for a transition to clean energy. Trump first floated the idea of annexation in 2019 and maintains that it’s vital “from the standpoint of national security.”
