Skelton brothers have a sccret weapon at Kempton – Jason Heavey’s Saturday suggestions

The Daily Star Chief Tipster believes a young hurdler with a big future can grab the glory in the big race at Kempton while a Scottish raider will take some beating in Warwick’s Classic Chase

A PAI DE NOM (3.17, nap) can give the Skelton brothers another big Saturday success in the Coral Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton.

The six-year-old has won three from four this season including a decent handicap at Cheltenham when he overcame greenness to score.

He then did well to win over an inadequate two miles at Leicester and arrives on a lovely rating of 124 for his biggest career test to date.

Harry Skelton will creep away on A Pai De Nom and he is fancied to out-point the improving Fasol, French Ship and Lanesborough.

KING AL (1.30) showed ability on his debut behind Macktoad and is a value alternative (around 10-1) against Precious Man in the Coral Racing Club Join For Free Juvenile Hurdle.

He was progressive on the Flat and was not beaten far at Sandown.

BEACHCOMBER (2.05) made serious waves about a year ago with a runaway success at Kempton.

Forcing tactics seemed to do the trick and it will not be a surprise if Jonjo O’Neill Jr jumps him out in the Coral-sponsored chase. The Doyen Chief and Your Darling are threats if the ground stays decent.

EDWARDSTONE (2.40) is not the force of old but he has a solid chance of regaining the winning thread in the Grade Two Silviniaco Conti Chase.

He chased home Djelo in the Peterborough at Huntingdon and his 4-1 price appeals more than shortie Kalif Du Berlais.

LAURENS BAY (1.52) is a giant of a horse and remains a lovely prospect although stamina and marathon trips may well be his forte. The William Hill Price Boosts Every Day Hampton Novice Chase is a chance for him to use that staying power.

Sandown caught him out last time out and he was never travelling although he plugged on. He gets the nod to out-stay Hollygrove Cha Cha and Doyen Quest.

ATREIDES (1.15) is a strong fancy in the William Hill Bet Builder Handicap Chase. He won two on the spin before unseating early at Wincanton and remains on a decent rating.

KELIJOE (2.25) was a smooth winner at Doncaster and is progressing well. She gets the vote in the William hill Racing Each Way Extra Hurdle while the consistent LUD’OR (3.32) deserves to get his head din front in the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle.

MYRETOWN (2.55) can burn off his rivals and continue his rise to the top at Warwick.

The nine-year-old produced a remarkable front-running performance to win the Ultima Handicap at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

And he is tipped to take the prestigious William Hill Half a Mill Classic Chase if snow-hit Warwick gets the go-ahead.

Myretown has only had 10 career starts and has tonnes of improvement in him.

He was going nicely in the Coral Gold Cup when falling and has been given time to recover by Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore.

He can make the odd howler of a mistake but his rating of 142 looks more than workable. Myretown may not want the ground to turn into a bog but soft ground would be fine.

Mr Vango is a formidable rival if the ground turns out to be very testing. He will relish the 3m 5f trip and may not allow Myretown an easy lead.

Sara Bradstock’s giant lost out by a short head to Twig in the Becher Chase under a whopping 12 stone. Sean Bowen’s ride Resplendent Grey – who flopped in the Coral Gold Cup – and the classy L’Homme Presse will have their supporters.

But the horse who appeals as a place prospect at the prices is Val Dancer. He was third in the Becher Chase behind Mr Vango and at 10-1 and with eight runners, he is worth pilfering as an each-way punt.
