Ready to serve in dad’s Army? Brits warned to be prepared for WW3
The UK Government has admitted it is in the process of “developing plans” to implement “civilian assistance” to the military given the Trump chaos around the world this week
Brits could be ordered to serve in a Dad’s Army style militia if World War 3 breaks out.
The UK Government has admitted it is in the process of “developing plans” to implement “civilian assistance” to the military. A Cabinet Office spokesman said they are leading the work to develop the new proposals which they say will be a “key component of the Home Defence Programme”.
They are teaming up with war chiefs from the Ministry of Defence to put together the new laws. They could require ordinary Brits to be enrolled as soldiers should “serious risks” to the country be threatened.
Colonel Al Carns, Labour MP and former Royal Marines officer spoke in the House of Commons when the question was raised by the Liberal Democrats in session.
Ian Roome asked what steps the department was taking to “codify civilian assistance” as recommended in the Strategic Defence Review.
In response, Mr Carns said: “The Cabinet Office-led programme, in which Defence plays a key role, provides layers of defence, security, and resilience planning, and coordinates civil and military preparations for some of the most serious risks we could face.
“Work is ongoing between the Ministry of Defence, the Cabinet Office, and other Whitehall Departments to understand the support requirements for Defence in a crisis or conflict scenario.”
Fears are rife that WW3 could break out given US President Trump’s actions this week.
America launched an attack on Venezuela, capturing the nation’s President Nicolás Maduro and leaving the country in a state of uncertainty over its political and economic future.
American forced conducted the military operation across Venezuela—including in the capital Caracas, where Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were staying and captured them.
The United States military has in the past few days begun seizing another oil tanker in the Caribbean, in a pressure campaign against Venezuela, amid fears Trump could declare war on Venezuela imminently.
Trump has never formally declared war on Venezuela, and said on Monday (January 5) instead that the U.S. is “at war with people that sell drugs. We’re at war with people that empty their prisons into our country and empty their drug addicts and empty their mental institutions into our country.”
But many believe it is a coup to try and gain control of their oil supplies.
