Champion jockey to proceed outstanding run – Jason Heavey’s Monday suggestions
The Daily Star Chief Tipster reckons Sean Bowen can steer his nap to success at Hereford while trainer Tony Carroll can land a hat-trick of winners
BOLLIN THOU (3.00, nap) can help to continue Sean Bowen’s remarkable domination of the jockeys’ title race at Hereford on Monday.
The reigning champion is a whopping 93 winners ahead in his quest to retain his crown.
Rookie trainer Nick Scholfield is only just getting started and he has had a mere five winners – and one of them was Bollin Thou who scored under Bowen at Uttoxeter 12 days ago.
He has been put up 7lb but he did win with plenty in hand and is fancied to take the Green Dragon Hotel Novices’ Limited Handicap Hurdle.
DONEGAL (1.30) also gets the vote for Bowen in the novice hurdle after posting a fine debut effort at Doncaster last month.
JAMAICAINE (3.30, nb) won over the track and trip in early December and she has a great chance of following up despite a 10lb higher rating. Conor O’Farrell gets the leg-up on Neil Mulholland’s raider.
There was much to like about the way VOL ROYALE (2.00, trb) won at the course last month under Harry Cobden and the pair are faced to defy a penalty.
NUNC EST BIBENDUM (1.10) is a mare in great nick and was a runaway winner at Southwell recently.
She is 9lb higher in the weights but should make light work of her three rivals ar Lingfield.
Tony Carroll is targeting the all-weather trainers’ title and has 12 runners.
MIDNIGHT CALL (2.10) and ROYAL JET (3.10), both recent winners, give him a big chance of a Lingfield double.
Carroll can also score with the filly SCENARIO (7.30)over at Wolverhampton.
She was a gritty winner 10 days ago and there should be more to come.
Billy Loughnane got off the mark for the year on Friday and can be among the winners at Wolves.
They include Brian Meehan’s OCEANS FIVE (6.00), who was a strong third at Chelmsford on his first start for 14 months, and will be hard to beat.
SURGEON COMMANDER (7.00) can build on his tenacious Newcastle success under Loughnane.
