Ozzy Osbourne set to be immortalised with personal model of drinks
Widow Sharon Osbourne applies to trademark beers, wines, and spirits called Back to the Beginning – the name of Ozzy’s iconic last gig a fortnight before he died
Legendary rock caner Ozzy Osbourne is set to be immortalised with his own brand of drinks.
The heavy metal icon died in July, aged 76, a fortnight after reuniting with Black Sabbath for a final concert appearance.
Now, widow Sharon, 73, has applied to trademark a line of beers, wines, and spirits called Back to the Beginning – the name of her hubby’s iconic last gig.
The TV star – who was Ozzy’s manager – wants to secure the title of the show under ‘wine, liqueur, spirits’, ‘beer’ and non-alcoholic wine and cocktail mixes. Legal documents filed by holding firm Monowise Ltd also seek legal protection for merchandise like t-shirts, hats, and baseball caps.
The gig at Villa Park in Birmingham raised millions for charity with 100% of the proceeds pledged to be split equally between the Acorns Children’s Hospice, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Cure Parkinson’s.
Ozzy, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019, died from a heart attack. A post mortem revealed he had coronary artery disease.
Thousands of the fans lined the streets of Birmingham for his funeral. He was buried next to a lake at his Buckinghamshire home.
During his life the Paranoid singer admitted he had been a ‘raging alcoholic’ before finally quitting booze.
“At one point I never ever imagined going a day,” he said.
“When I used to drink booze, I’d buy a Ferrari or whatever, and Sharon would always be getting rid of them so I didn’t do anything stupid when I was drunk.”
During his 30s he said he would sup four bottles of cognac-a-day and necked a case of beer every day during a three-year stint on reality TV series The Osbournes.
He famously admitted downing 28 gallons of beer – 224 pints – in the festive season because he ‘f****** hates Christmas ’.
“I drunk it before it was Christmas f****** Eve,” he said.
