Birmingham tower block hearth as seven crews rush to main blaze

A tower block has been evacuated this morning after a major blaze started on the 9th floor of the property, according to the fire service.
West Midlands Fire Service were called to Hamstead in Birmingham at 6.22am to reports of an incident at the tower block.
According to BirminghamLive, around Seven fire crews are currently tackling the blaze as police and ambulance crews are also on the scene.
One hose reel jet was seen being used at the building on Coniston Crescent.
West Midlands Fire Service wrote on X: “Fire Service currently in attendance at a tall building fire in Hamstead, Birmingham.
“This is a seven pump fire.
“Police and Ambulance are also in attendance.
“Fire believed to be on the 9th floor.”
Residents were evacuated from the building this morning and the fire service have thankfully reported in an update that “all persons have been accounted for”.
