Footballer, 23, dies all of the sudden as tributes paid to ‘beautiful lad who at all times gave 100%’
CPD Llannefydd striker Morgan Jones has died at the age of 23, the club has confirmed, with tributes pouring in from across the North Wales football family
Heartfelt tributes have poured in following the sudden passing of a promising young footballer.
North Wales outfit CPD Llannefydd announced the devastating news that striker Morgan Jones had passed away last week at just 23 years of age. The club described him as a “much loved” player who consistently gave “100% to the cause”. Fellow players and rival clubs have queued up to honour the forward’s memory.
In an emotional statement, CPD Llannefydd, who compete in the Lock Stock Ardal North West league, said: “We are deeply saddened to share the devastating news that CPD Llannefydd striker Morgan Jones tragically lost his life last week, aged 23. Morgan was a valued team-mate and a much-loved member of our club.
“He will be sorely missed. Great person who always gave 100% to the cause and will always be a part of the CPD Llannefydd family.
“Our thoughts are with with Bryn, Mel, Brad and the rest of his family, as well as friends and all who knew him. Rest in peace, Morgan. You will always be part of CPD Llannefydd.”
Moving tributes flooded in from across the North Wales football community, reports North Wales Live. Bangor FC Chairman Nick Pritchard said: “Tragic news and heart goes out to the team, friends and family.”
Referee Graham Hannah added: “I have had the privilege to referee Morgan on many occasions. He was a lovely lad and a cracking footballer. My thoughts are with everyone who was close to him.”
Mold Alexandra FC expressed their sorrow, stating: “This is literally heartbreaking news to read. Sending our condolences to all at Llannefydd FC, Morgan’s family and friends.”
Danny McGoona, general manager at Colwyn Bay FC, echoed these sentiments, saying: “Sending our condolences to everyone at Llannefydd FC, Morgan’s family and friends from Colwyn Bay Football Club.”
Llandudno Junction FC also shared their condolences, stating: “Very sad news. Our thoughts are with everyone at the club, and with Morgan’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.”
